Elizabeth McEntire Barbee, age 92, of Rutherfordton, passed away Saturday, November 11, 2017, at Hospice House of Rutherford County.
She was born in Rutherford County on February 11, 1925 to the late King H. McEntire and the late Estelle Goforth McEntire. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Rutherfordton and graduated from R-S Central High School and attended Mars Hill College. She worked at Whachovia Bank in Winston Salem for several years and then for Union Trust Bank in Rutherfordton as a bookeeper before retiring from Rutherford Hospital where she worked in their office. She was preceded in death by one brother King Norman McEntire of Rutherfordton.
She is survived by;
One Daughter:
Terry Payne and husband Allen of Rutherfordton
One sister in law:
Elizabeth McEntire Sinclair of Forest City
One nephew: Tim McEntire of Forest City
Two nieces: Sheree Crowder of Rutherfordton and Renee Nolan of Forest City and many great nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Hospice House Of Rutherford County for their loving care for Elizabeth. At Elizabeth's request there will be no formal services held. Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills at P.O. Box 336 Forest City, NC 28043.
