John is married to Christie Briscoe McMahan and both are Rutherford County Natives.  John is a graduate of R-S Central High School and a 1983 graduate of Gupton Jones College of Mortuary Science in Atlanta.  He is National Board Certified and licensed as a Funeral Director and Embalmer.  He is the owner and president of McMahan's Funeral Home.  John and Christie have three children, John III (Mackie), Jesse Elizabeth and Lydia Ramona.  John resides in Rutherfordton and is a member of the First Baptist Church Rutherfordton.  John is also a retired volunteer firefighter with the Rutherfordton Fire Department with 20 years of service.

Adam joined the staff of McMahans in March of 2010.  He is a Rutherford County native and a 1999 graduate of Fayetteville Technical Community College with a Associates Degree in Funeral Service Education.  He is National Board Certified and a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer.  Adam resides in Forest City.  He attends Sulphur Springs Baptist Church and is a volunteer EMT with the Rutherford County Rescue Crew.
