Aileen Smith Reilly

Aileen Reilly, age 75, of Rutherfordton, died Tuesday, September 10, 2019, at Hospice House of the Carolina Foothills.

She was the daughter of the late Dolphers Smith and the late Lillian Jones. Aileen obtained a Bachelor of Science degree at WCU, a Masters at Converse College, and a Literacy Certification at Appalachian University. She worked at Stonecutter Mills as a secretary for 7 years, she was a public school teacher for 8 years, an instructor at Isothermal Community College, and she also worked at St. Lukes Hospital in Columbus. Aileen was a member of First Baptist Church of Spindale, NC. Aileen said, "Please let it be known that I'm more than just a "pew sitter". It takes a lot of effort for a stroke victim to get ready and get to church all by herself." 

She is survived by her husband: Robert "Bob" Reilly.

David Smith

Seven Grandchildren
Caleb, McKenzie and Bailey, Thomas, Joseph, Lucas, and Clare. 

Three nieces, four nephews and numerous great nieces and nephews. 

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM  at McMahan's Funeral Home Sunday, September 15, 2019. The funeral service will be at 3:00 PM at McMahan's Funeral Home Chapel Sunday, September 15, 2019 with Reverend Jeff Queen officiating. Interment will be at Union United Methodist Church Cemetery. McMahan's Funeral Home & Cremation Services are in charge of arrangements.
