Aldon M. Conner Jr.

Aldon M.  Conner Jr., age 72, of Rutherfordton, NC, died Saturday, July 27, 2019, at Hospice House of the Carolina Foothills.

He was the son of the late Aldon M. Conner Sr. and the late Ruth Fincannon Conner and a native of Rutherford County.  He was a member of First Baptist Church of Spindale.  He was retired from Cone Mills where he was the director of production scheduling.  He was a U S Army Veteran of the Vietnam War.  Aldon loved the game of golf and enjoyed playing with his friends.  He loved going out of town on golf trips with his golfing buddies.  He was also preceded in death by his brother Leslie Kevin Conner.

Rita D. Conner of Etowah, NC.  Aldon had an honorary grandson; Keaton,  that he cherished very much and his mother Jessica who has been a caregiver to the Conner family for many years.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at McMahan's prior to the service.  The  Funeral service will be at McMahan's Funeral Home Chapel at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, July 31, 2019 with Reverend Jessica Godfrey officiating.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills; P O Box 336; Forest City, NC 28043.  Online guest register at www.mcmahansfuneralhome.com.  McMahan's Funeral Home & Cremation Services in charge of arrangements.
