Dr. Robert F. Toney

Dr. Robert F. Toney, age 91, of Bostic, NC, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, May 13, 2019, at  Atrium Health Cleveland in Shelby, NC.

He was a native of Rutherford County and  the son of the late Cicero and  Dora Jones Toney. He was a member of Mount Lebanon Baptist Church. He began his ministry in 1959 and pastored numerous churches during his sixty years of ministry with the help of his loving wife. He attended Gardner Webb College and graduated from Andersonville Baptist Seminary in Camile,GA. He also graduated from Fruitland Bible Institute and received his doctorate in 1995. Robert was a past master of Masonic Lodge #535 Hollis, and a charter member of Eastern Star #37 Hollis. He was preceded in death by his wife Lucille Briscoe Toney, six brothers and two sisters.

He is survived by:

Wayne Toney and  wife Laura.

Three Daughters:
Wanda Greene and husband Frank,
Wavolyn Norville and husband Keith,
Wannell Willard and  husband Kim.

Eight Grandchildren:
Amanda Toney, Wendy Glover, Benjamin Greene, Audrey Byers, Jay Norville, Myrick Willard, Blake Willard and Mackenzie Ruppe.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at Mount Lebanon Baptist Church in Bostic. The funeral service will be at Mount Lebanon Baptist Church in Bostic at 6:00 PM, Wednesday, May 15, 2019 with Reverend Paul White and Reverend Wayne Toney officiating. Burial will take place at the resurrection ground of Mount Lebanon Baptist Church Cemetery at 11:00 am on Thursday, May 16, 2019. Memorials may be made to Mount Lebanon Baptist Church Building Fund at 801 Mount Lebanon Church Rd, Bostic, NC 28018. Online guest register at www.mcmahansfuneralhome.com.
