Frances Womack Yelton

Frances Womack Yelton , age 95, of Rutherfordton passed away peacefully on Monday, February 11, 2019 at her home. She was born on October 3, 1923 to the late Otho and Anlo Nanney Womack. She graduated from RS Central High School in 1940 and attended King's Business College before working as a bookkeeper for Stonecutter Mills and Park Lane Secretarial Service. Frances was an active life-long member of Gilboa United Methodist Church, where she served as treasurer for over fifty years and was a loyal member of the United Methodist Women. She was married for 56 years to Charles R. Yelton, who preceded her in death as did her oldest son Mike and her granddaughter, Cassidy Yelton.

She is survived by Mike's widow, Kelly Yelton Mayse of Bostic, their daughter, Mandi Yelton Skinner and her son Geof of Rutherfordton; daughter Nancy Yelton Jessup and her husband Benny and their children Suzanne Jessup Thomasson and her husband Chase and her son Eric of Greensboro; son David, his wife Denise and their daughters, Katie, Allyson and Emily of Rutherfordton; and son John Yelton of Swannanoa.

The Funeral Service will be at 2:00 P.M. Friday, February 15, 2019 at Gilboa United Methodist Church with Reverend Jack Bridges officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. Friday prior to the service at Gilboa. Interment will be in the Gilboa United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the Harris Home Care staff who loved and cared for Mrs. Yelton in her final months and Hospice of the Carolina Foothills.
