Wallace Ruppe Obituary
Wallace Jason Ruppe, age 91, of Rutherfordton,died Saturday, February 11, 2017, at Rutherford Regional Medical Center.
He was a native of Rutherford County and the son of the late Avery Washington Ruppe and the late Mittie Cole Ruppe. He was a member of Holly Springs Baptist Church and a U.S. Army Veteran. He was an avid cat lover, a weather observer for the National Weather Service for 30 years and did weather updates on WCAB Radio for 25 years. Wallace was a member of the American Legion Post 74 and was the P.A. Announcer for the Americam Legion Post 74 baseball games. He was involved in Rutherford County Crime Control, loved to visit the Rutherford County Senior Center and enjoyed doing anything outdoors. Wallace was preceded in death by three brothers; Furman, Vester and Herman Ruppe and one sister Virginia Dare Ruppe.
He is survived by his wife:
Ruth Oree Hooper Harton Ruppe.
Two Sons:
Jason Travis Ruppe
Mark Christopher Harton and wife Vikki.
One Daughter:
Eva Robin Hodge
Two Granddaughters:
Amber Nicole Hodge and Jessie Maria Hodge.
Four step grandchildren and three step great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at McMahan's Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at McMahan's Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, February 14, 2017 with Reverend Ad Hopper officiating. Interment will be at Holly Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
