Ace Burgin Champion Jr., age 83, of Forest City, died Friday, December 29, 2017, at Rutherford Regional Medical Center. He was the son of the late Ace Burgin Champion Sr. and the late Fannie Wells Champion. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a granddaughter Jessica Champion; brother John Champion; sisters Helen Couch, Ruby Smith, Mable Pilgrim, Verte Mae Scruggs. Ace was a U S Air Force veteran and of the Baptist faith. He is survived by his wife: Bardee Hensley Champion One Daughter: Mary Denise Champion of Forest City One Son: Jerry Ricky Champion and his wife Mary Helen of Forest City Three Grandchildren: Cynthia Calhoun, AJ Champion, Gabreille Murray Four Great-grandchildren: Alyssa Calhoun, Kalea Champion, Junior Murray, Bree Champion The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Monday, January 1, 2018 at McMahan's Funeral Home. The funeral service will be 1:00 PM, Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at McMahan's Funeral Chapel with Reverend Dean Baughn officiating.
