SERVICES WILL BE TUESDAY JANUARY 27TH AS PREVIOUSLY PLANNED

Alma Ruth Lynch Thompson, age 92, of Spindale, NC, died Friday, January 23, 2026, at Hospice House of the Carolina Foothills.  She was the daughter of the late Abner & Myrtle Guffey Lynch and a native of Rutherford County.  She was preceded in death by husband Bobby Paul Thompson, siblings Henry Lynch, Jack Lynch, Nora Downey, Mary Joe Kiser, Sybil Saunders, Raymond Lynch, Florence Downey and Fannie Sane.  Ruth was a member of Adaville Baptist Church.

Survivors include one daughter: Nancy Joann Stevenson, Spindale, NC Two Grandchildren: Angela McAbee and Shawn Pettit. One Great-Grandchild Ireland McAbee.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, Tuesday, January 27, 2026.  The funeral service will be at McMahan's Funeral Home Chapel at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, January 27, 2026, with Reverend Dr. Jeff Pate officiating. Interment will be at Eternal Hills Memorial Park and will be private. Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills; P.O.
