Alton Thompson, age 94, of Spindale, NC, died Saturday, December 14, 2019, at Hospice House of the Carolina Foothills.

He was the son of the late George Merlin Thompson and the late Pearl Henson Thompson. Alton was a native of Rutherford County and a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, Alton was preceded in death by his first wife, Beatrice Harris Thompson, daughter, Geraldine Thompson, son, Steven Thompson, sisters, Louise Conner and Edith Wagner, and brothers, James Thompson and Lindberg McPherson.

He is survived by his wife: Hilda Enloe Thompson.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, Thursday, December 19, 2019 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. The funeral service will be at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church at 3:00 PM, Thursday, December 19, 2019 with Reverend William Swink and Reverend Eric Reedy officiating.
