Avery "Steve" Hancock, age 57, of Union Mills, NC, died Thursday, September 19, 2019, at his home in Union Mills, NC.

Steve was the son of Walter Eugene Hancock Sr. and the late Nancy Conner Hancock. He was a native of Rutherford County and liked hot-rod cars.

He is survived by:

One Son: Matthew Hancock

One Sister: Catina Melton and her husband Mitch

One Brother: Walter Hancock Jr. and his wife Rosey

The graveside service will be at Gilkey United Methodist Church Cemetery at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, September 24, 2019 with Reverend Jack Bridges officiating. The family will receive friends after the service in the church fellowship hall.  Interment will be at Gilkey United Methodist Church Cemetery.
