Barbara Rumfelt Smith, age 86, of Rutherfordton, NC, died Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at Hilltop Health & Rehabilitation.

A native of Rutherford County, Barbara was the daughter of the late Robert and Clara Rumfelt. Barbara was a member at Poor's Ford Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by one sister, Diane Earley.

Barbara is survived by her husband of 68 years, Don Smith, one son, Randy Smith and his wife Diane, one sister, Patsy R. Wilson, four grandchildren, Chris Smith, Brandon Smith, Ryan McGee, and Michael McGee. and eleven great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 19, 2025 at Poor's Ford Baptist Church. The funeral service will be at Poor's Ford Baptist Church at 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 19, 2025 with Reverend Gary Holmes, and Reverend Reid Cooper officiating. Interment will follow at Poor's Ford Baptist Church Cemetery. Memorials may be made to, Hospice of the Carolian Foothills; P.O. Box 336, Forest City, NC 28043.
