Benny Lollar, age 82, of Rutherfordton, passed away Monday, July 4, 2022 at his home.

He was the son of the late Ben and Evelyn Lollar and a native of Rutherford County. Benny was a car enthusiast. In his younger days he loved to drag race at Lambs Grill. Benny loved to farm, and he also loved being a part of the "Broad River Boys" group. In addition to his parents, Benny was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Gregg Lollar, one sister, Betty Wilson, and his brother-in-law, Jake Wilson.

Benny is survived by two daughters, Toni Lollar Guffey, and husband Wayne, Tracie Lollar Mitchem, and husband Mark, one son, Benjamin Earl  Lollar, III, and wife Brandi, and six grandchildren, Carah Lollar, Hayden Mitchem, Dawson Williamson, Gabbie Williamson, Alexis Lollar, and Ava Williamson.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Thursday, July 7, 2022 at McMahan's Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at McMahan's Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 AM, Friday, July 8, 2022 with Reverend Jerry Ruppe officiating. Benny will lie-in-state thirty minutes prior to the funeral service on Friday. Interment will be at Union Methodist Church Cemetery.
