Betty Sue Jordan Bare, age 82, of Rutherfordton, passed away Monday, October 31, 2022, at Hospice House of the Carolina Foothills.

She was the daughter of the late Ira and Drewcilla Jordan, and she was a native of West Jefferson, NC. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her daughter, Demedia Carol Bare, and numerous siblings.

Betty was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.  She worked for many years at their family owned business, Apple Tuck and Associates, as an executive secretary   She enjoyed gardening and working in her yard. She took great pride in beautifying her surroundings.   She had an amazing green thumb and it was always fun to tour her lush gardens and discover all the unique items she would use as plant holders.   She loved spending time at the beach but also enjoyed time in the mountains of North Carolina at their cabin.

Betty is survived by her husband of 61 years, Charles Bare, her son, David Bare and his wife Christy of Morganton, three brothers, Leonard Jordan, Carol Jordan, and Jimmy Jordan, two grandchildren, Christian Bare of Gainesville FL, and Emily Thompson and her husband Tyree of Spokane, WA.

The graveside service will be at Mountain View Baptist Church Cemetery at 1:00 PM, Friday, November 4, 2022 with Reverend Eric Reedy officiating. Interment will follow. There will be no formal visitation. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, P.O. Box 336, Forest City, NC 28043, or Mountain View Baptist Church, 430 US 221 Hwy S, Rutherfordton, NC 28139. McMahan's Funeral Home & Cremation Services is in charge of arrangements.
