Betty Goode Waters passed away peacefully July 16th at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills in Forest City, NC. Betty was 82 years old and lived her entire life in the Rutherfordton area. She was preceded in death by her husband Jack A. Waters and her parents, Agnes Green Goode, and Robert Lee Goode. She is survived by her sisters, Dorothy Waters of Bermuda Run, NC and Hope G. Knight of Sanford, NC, five special nieces and nephews, Amy Baker, Meg Parrish, Susan Knight Norris, Robert Lee Knight, and Floyd (Russ) Knight, seven great nieces and nephews, Jonah Baker, Emma Claire Norris, Olivia Norris, Foss Knight Johnson, Aubrey Knight, Jack Knight, and Sarah Knight, and one great-great nephew Levi McCoy Knight.

She went to Limestone College where she got a BS degree in Home Economics. Betty was a life-long member of the Southern Baptist Church of Ruth, NC. She and her husband Jack owned and operated Things for Learning, an instructional materials business, for many years. Due to Covid concerns, there will be a private, family only, service held in honor of Betty. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to, Hospice of the Carolina Foothills; P.O.
