Bonnie Brewer Parton, 83, of Rutherfordton, NC passed away on Monday, October 19, 2026.

A native of Rutherford County, Bonnie was the daughter of the late Ed and Jennie Brewer. She trained as an X-ray technician at Mercy Hospital in Charlotte and cared deeply for her patients. Above all, Bonnie cherished time with her family, and her grandchildren were the light of her life. She was a wonderful cook who delighted in preparing meals for those she loved. Bonnie also treasured reading her Bible and was devoted to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Bonnie is survived by her three loving daughters: Tanya Watson and husband Jason, Shelli Allen and husband Joey, and Jennifer Travis and husband Bart; three grandchildren: Katie Coffey, Hannah Whisnant and husband Alec, and Emma Rose Coffey; and one great-grandchild, Avery Whisnant. She is also survived by many extended family members whom she loved dearly.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 25, 2026, from 4:00 to 4:30 p.m. at McMahan's Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 4:30 p.m. in McMahan’s Funeral Home Chapel, with the Reverend Joey Allen officiating. McMahan's Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
