Brenda J. Lynch, age 84, of Rutherfordton, NC, passed away Friday, October 17, 2025, at her home.

A native of Henderson County, Brenda, was the daughter of the late Harold Jackson and the late Blannie Burgess Jackson. In addition to her parents, Brenda was preceded in death by her husband Bobby Jay Lynch, and one sister, Loree Capps. Brenda was an active member at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church where she has had many roles over the years. She was very proud of her garden, and she always kept her  flowers, and her yard in great condition. Brenda was a fantastic cook, and she loved to sing. She always had a song on the tip of her tongue and in her heart. Brenda worked as a registered nurse 50 years, and almost all those years she was at Rutherford Regional Medical Center. Brenda adored her family, she was the most loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Left to cherish Brenda's memory is her daughter, Donna Kay Lynch Ashley and her husband Phillip, her son, Jeffery Lynch and his wife Jackie, her sister, Martha "Janie" Matthews, twelve grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren.

At the request of the family, please wear blue to the services for Brenda. The family will receive friends from 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM, Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. The funeral service will be at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church at 6:00 PM, Wednesday, October 22, 2025, with Reverend James Henson officiating. Interment will be private. Memorials may be made to Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and put "Exodus 1 Scholarship" in the memo line; 563 Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Rd. Rutherfordton, NC 28139. McMahan's Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
