Bruce Albert Mitchem, age 70, of Hendersonville, NC, died Tuesday, April 6, 2021.

He was the son of the late John Henry Mitchem and the late Opal Gallion Mitchem. Bruce was a native of Rutherford county. He was a graduate of NC State with a Master's in Education/Counseling. He was, "A brave and remarkable man."

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Jerrie Sue Oyler and a brother Jimmy Mitchem. Survivors include his wife: Diane E. Mitchem.

There will be a Gathering of family and friends from 12:30 PM to 1:45 PM Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at McMahan's Funeral Home. The interment will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at Oak Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
