Calvin "CJ" Justice McClellan, age 87, of Rutherfordton, NC, died Sunday, August 11, 2019, at Oak Grove Health Care Center.

He was the son of the late Arnold McClellan and the late Martha Thomas McClellan and he was a native of Mitchell County. CJ was the widower of the late Joann McClellan. He was also preceded in death by his son: Johnny Laughter, brothers: Henry McClellan, and Carrol McClellan, sister: Adalene Wall and one daughter: Angela Laughter. CJ was a member of Oak Springs Baptist Church. He loved his chickens and his bees and he also loved his family very much.

He is survived by

Three Daughters: Tammy Spivey, Shannon Kuykendall and her husband Michael and Kylie Bradley and her husband Tony

One Son: Joshua McClellan

Three Brothers: James McClellan, Eugene McClellan and Dewey McClellan

Eight Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Friday, August 16, 2019 at McMahan's Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at Oak Springs Baptist Church at 11:00 AM, Saturday, August 17, 2019 with Reverend Kevin Bradley, and Reverend Tommy Hutchins officiating. Interment will be at Oak Springs Baptist Church Cemetery following the service with Reverend Alvin Allen officiating. An online guest register is available at www.mcmahansfuneralhome.com.
