Carol "Gi Gi" Adeline Rice Shaw, age 83, of Mooresboro, NC, passed away Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at Hilltop Health and Rehab.

Carol was a native of California and she was the daughter of the late Albert and Adeline Rice. She was also preceded in death by her significant other, John O'Shea.

Carol is survived by two daughters, Tayawna Compton (Richard), Mooresboro, NC, Lorrie Robbins (Frank), one son, SynJyn Hawke of Oxnard, CA, one brother, Albert P. Rice of WA, eleven grandchildren, Jamie Hettrick, Joseph Hettrick, Roy Hettrick, Billy Moody, Cristina Antonacci, Bradley Moody, Amber Moody, Brian Moody, Benny Moody, Brittany Moody, Michael Compton, Patricia Compton, Christopher Compton Crystal Allen, and fourteen great-grandchildren, Lynsey Hettrick, Joseph "Lil J" Hettrick Jr., Mahalia Hettrick, Loralie Brooker, Catie Moody, Steven Moody, Emily Moody, Bella Moody, Ryan Arrington, Kerri Arrington, Wyatt Compton, Eli Compton, Addie Moody, and Austin Moody.

The family will be having a private celebration of life for Carol on Saturday April 22, 2023. McMahan's Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
