Carol Stallings Pate, age 73, of Rutherfordton, NC, died Sunday, January 2, 2022, at Hospice House of the Carolina Foothills surrounded by her loving family.

She was the daughter of the late James Stallings, and Annie Lou Stallings, and she was a native of Rutherford County. She was an active member of Holly Springs Baptist Church which she loved.  Carol loved her husband, whom she liked to call her boyfriend for fun, her daughters, and grandkids who affectionately called her NaNa.

She is survived by her loving husband of 54 1/2 years, Johnny Pate, three daughters, Melissa Pate Condrey (Phil), Jamie Pate Harris (Dwayne), Alicia Pate James, her mother, Annie Lou Stallings, one brother, Rick Stallings, nine grandchildren, Madalyn Harris Miller (Dylan), Malarie Harris, Weston Harris, Marla Harris, Jessica Condrey Nelson (Steven), Ashley Condrey, Phillip Condrey (Monica), Kip James, and Jarrett James, and nine great-grandchildren, Wyatt Miller, Avery Nelson, Sullivan Nelson, Adeline Nelson, Wrenn Banner, Emma Condrey, Hudson Condrey, Raighlyn James, and Rileigh James.

The funeral service will be at Holly Springs Baptist Church at 3:00 PM, Thursday, January 6, 2022, with Reverend Scott Moneyham and Reverend Timothy Hodge officiating.

Visitation will begin in the church sanctuary following the funeral service after the family only, escorts Carol to the funeral coach.  Interment will be private at Holly Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of Carolina Foothills; P O Box 336; Forest City, NC 28043.  The family will be at the home of Jamie & Dwayne Harris.
