Cecil Ryan Robbins, age 82, of Rutherfordton, NC, passed away Sunday, May 31, 2020, at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills.

He was the son of the late Jim  and Annie Lee Jackson Robbins. He was also preceded in death by an infant brother, and his two brothers; Dr. Jimmy Robbins, and Charles Robbins and his wife Marlene Robbins.

Cecil was retired from Liberty Life Insurance Company. He was also known as the bubble gum man to many children throughout his life.

He was a true and faithful member of Holly Springs Baptist Church. Church was Pop's life. His love for God shown brightly in his heart all the days of his life. He also loved to visit the sick and shut in, even when his steps were failing him. The entire family would like to express our gratitude to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills. Hospice was a team of Angels looking after daddy and his girls and we will be eternally grateful for their compassion, kind Godly words, and the love shown to our family.

Cecil is survived by, two Daughters: Lisa Roper and her husband David of the home, and Jill Arrowood and her husband Mike of Forest City.

Four Grandchildren: Benjamin Roper and wife Kelsee, Nicholas Roper, Kinsey Johnson and husband Wayne, and Karah McHone all of Rutherfordton.

Two Great-Grandsons: Bentley Roper and Silas Johnson

He is also survived by one sister-in-law Peggy Robbins of Boiling Springs, SC. Four nephews and two nieces

Cecil will lie-in-state from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at Holly Springs Baptist Church.  The funeral service will be at Holly Springs Baptist Church at 3:00 PM, Tuesday, June 2, 2020 with Reverend Scott Moneyham officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills; P.O. Box 336, Forest City, NC 28043.
