Charles "Ray" Norville, age 75, of Rutherfordton, NC, died Thursday, March 15, 2012, at Rutherford Regional Medical Center.He was a native of Rutherford County and the son of the late Bill and Eva Yelton Norville. Ray was a former superintendant over yarn at J.P. Stevens in York S.C., former deacon at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, Past president of the Jaycees , served in the U.S. Army Reserves from 1960 to 1965. Ray retired from North Carolina Farm Bureau Insurance after 25 years of service. He was a founding member of Fathers Vineyard Church in Spindale. Ray was known for his love for family, church, friends and his home. Ray loved working in his yard around his home and while doing this he was taken by his Lord. He will be missed by all who knew him, but we will celebrate the life he lived. He is survived by his wife of 56 Years Joanne P. The funeral service will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, March 17, 2012 at Father's Vineyard; with the Rev. Terry Howell and Rev. Roger Gosnell officiating. Interment will follow at Little White Country Church Cemetery.
