Obituary

Charlotte Elizabeth McMahan, age 89, of Rutherfordton, died Monday, October 17, 2016, at Fair Haven Home in Bostic. Charlotte was a native of Rutherford County and was the daughter of the late John and Ida Sue Aydlotte Spratt. She was the widow of the late Frank McMahan. She was also preceded in death by her brother Don Spratt. Charlotte was a member of Gilboa United Methodist Church that she supported faithfully. She worked at and co-owned McMahan's Funeral Home Inc. until her health wouldn't allow her to. She lived in and loved the Gilkey community before marrying Frank and moving to Rutherfordton in 1960. Charlotte was a devout Christian, and master cook. Charlotte was the most loving and selfless mother, grandmother and friend anybody could have ever had. She is survived by One Son: John F. McMahan II and wife Christie Three Grandchildren: John F. McMahan III, Jesse Elizabeth McMahan, and Lydia Ramona McMahan The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at McMahan's Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at McMahan's Funeral Home Chapel at 10:30 AM, Thursday, October 20, 2016 with Reverend Jack Bridges, Phyllis Lovelace Briscoe and Charles Byrd officiating. Interment will be at Rutherfordton City Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Gilboa United Methodist Church c/o Frances Yelton. 511 Flynn Rd., Rutherfordton NC 28139.
