Clifford Fields, age 76, of Rutherfordton, NC, died Tuesday, December 21, 2021, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center in Spartanburg, SC.

He was the son of the late Robert Fields and the late Truly Anne Fields and a native of  West Virginia.  He was also preceded in death by his wife Janice Mynes Fields.  Clifford attended Green Hill Baptist Church.  He was a graduate of West Virginia State College and University of North Carolina Chapel Hill receiving a masters degree. Clifford was the District Health Director for Rutherford , Polk and McDowell health district for 30 years.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved the outdoors.

One Daughter: Wendy Lynn Wiseman and her husband Michael of Taylorsville, NC

Two Sisters: Panola Lucas Vangie Edwards

One Grandson:  Hunter Alexander Wiseman.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Monday, December 27, 2021 at McMahan's Funeral Home.  Interment and graveside service  will be at Mount Vernon Cemetery, Hurricane, West Virginia on Wednesday, December 29, 2021.  In lieu of flowers please make memorials to the National Wildlife Federation at nwf.org.  McMahan's Funeral Home & Cremation Services in charge of arrangements.
