Clyde Baker, Jr., age 79, of Forest City, NC, passed away Thursday, January 15, 2026, at Hospice House of the Carolina Foothills.

A native of Rutherford County, Clyde was the son of the late Clyde Baker and the late Eulala Phillips Baker. In addition to his parents, Clyde was preceded in death by his sister, Diane Allen, and his son, Billy Baker. Clyde was a member of Sulphur Springs Holiness Church. One of his favorite things to do was watch old Westerns. Clyde also enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Left to cherish Clyde's memory are his children, Bobby Lee Baker, Sherry Rollins (Ken), Jerry Baker, and Lynn Baker Downing (Thomas), seven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at First Wesleyan Church from 2 PM to 3 PM, Saturday February 21, 2026. The family directed celebration of life for Clyde, will follow the visitation at the church Saturday February 21, 2026 at 3 PM with Reverend Eric Yelton and Reverend David Cole officiating.
