Daniel James Petrinovich

Daniel James Petrinovich passed away peacefully at home on October 20, 2026.

Dan was born and raised in California, spending his youth in the close-knit mountain community of Idyllwild. He lived most of his life in Tempe, Arizona, and had recently relocated to North Carolina near family.

Dan is survived by his mother Jeannie, father David, stepmother Barbara, sister Elizabeth, brother-in-law Harris, nephew Harris, cat Poki (aka the Sanity Machine), and many friends and extended family.

His favorite saying “ain’t nobody perfect” aptly captures his world view of kindness, acceptance, and compassion for all. He lived his values and cared deeply about stray animals, environmental impacts, and current events.

Dan possessed an encyclopedic knowledge and insight of witty, philosophical, and darkly humorous movies and TV shows. He could recommend the perfect watch to anyone for any mood.

He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
