Danny " Evil" Ray Brinegar, age 61, of Lake Lure, NC, passed away Sunday, June 12, 2022.

He was the son of the late Carl "Joe" and Hazel Conner Brinegar, and he was a native of Rutherford County. Danny loved to farm, and he loved working at Gilkey Lumber with his coworkers. Danny was a loving brother, husband, father, father-in-law, and Poppy. In addition to his parents, Danny was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Karen Williams, and two grandchildren, AddieRaye and Gentry Fish.

He is survived by his wife, Kelli Brinegar, two daughters, Tiffany Fish, and husband Chad, Kim Barker, and husband Jerome, one son, DJ Atchley, two sisters, Glenda Wills, and husband Tommy, of Lake Lure, NC, Carla Franklin, and husband Freddie, of Hampton, VA, three grandchildren, Tyler Partridge, Eli, and Ella Dean Fish, and his two dogs, Oreo, and Berkley.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Thursday, June 16, 2022, at McMahan's Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Heart of the Foothills Animal Rescue, 380 U.S. Hwy 221 North, Rutherfordton, NC 28139. McMahan's Funeral Home & Cremation Services is in charge of arrangements.
