Donald "Don"  Baxter Butler, age 86, of Forest City, NC, died Monday, August 4, 2025, at Rutherford Regional Medical Center in Rutherfordton, NC.

He was the son of the late Baxter Rodney Butler and the late Elizabeth Edwards Butler and a native of Rutherford County. He was also preceded in death by his loving wife Charlotte Herron Butler.   Don was a member of Providence Methodist Church.  He enjoyed selling and collecting antiques and used cars.

He is survived by

Two Sons: Brent Rodney Butler of  Forest City and David Butler of Forest City (Melanie)

One Sister: Martha DeBrule of Palm Beach, FL

One Brother: Daniel Butler of Forest City, NC

Five Grandchildren:  Brent Butler, Carsyn Truitt, Ryan Butler, Wesley Butler and Matthew Butler. Three Great-Grandchildren: Charlotte Butler, Jack Truitt and Kate Truitt.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Thursday, August 7, 2025 at Providence Methodist Church.  The Funeral service will be Thursday, August 7, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. at Providence Methodist Church with Reverend Michael Harrill Jr. officiating.  Interment will be in the church cemetery.  Memorials may be made to Providence Methodist Church; 161 Providence Church Road; Forest City, NC 28043.  McMahan's Funeral Home & Crematory in charge of arrangements.
