Donnie Epley, age 72, of Rutherfordton, NC, died Tuesday, July 15, 2025.

Donnie was the son of the late Woodrow & Edna White Epley and a native of Rutherford County. He was also preceded in death by his brother Ray Epley.  Donnie was a custom home builder. He loved his dogs most of all, deer hunting and fishing. Donnie was known for cooking chickens on his barbecue by the dozens at Christmas time and giving them away. He always enjoyed and grew vegetables in his gardens. After retirement he enjoyed having friends visit him most every afternoon.

He is survived by two brothers: Scott  Epley and his wife Judy, and Gerald Epley and his wife Audrey, and a host of Friends.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Friday, July 18, 2025, at McMahan's Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at McMahan's Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 PM, Friday, July 18, 2025, with Reverend Scott Moneyham officiating. Interment will be at Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery. McMahan's Funeral Home & Crematory in charge of arrangements.
