Ellen "Poody" Stanley, age 68, of Mill Spring, NC, passed away Friday, July 22, 2022, at Mountain Ridge Wellness Center in Black Mountain, NC.

She was the daughter of the late Evertt and Edith Mathis, and was a native of Rutherford County. In addition to her parents, Ellen was preceded in death by on sister, Letha Mathis Scruggs, one brother, Spencer Lovelace, and one grandson, Killian Conner.

Ellen is survived by, one daughter, Sherrie Keeter Adams, one son, Charles Gary Ridge II, one sister, Liz Mathis Owens, three grandchildren, Christian Conner, Steven Ridge, and Rebecca Downey, and five great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM, Monday, July 25, 2022 at McMahan's Funeral Home. The graveside service will be at Rutherfordton City Cemetery at 11:00 AM, Monday, July 25, 2022 with Reverend Brandon Wood officiating. Interment will follow at Rutherfordton City Cemetery.
