Emery Searcy, age 85, of Rutherfordton, died Saturday, March 31, 2018, at Hospice House of Rutherford County. He was the son of the late Willard Searcy and the late Eva Burgess Searcy. Emery was preceded in death by his wife Margaret Taylor Searcy, one brother Hubert Searcy and five sisters; infant sister Ethel Searcy, Mildred Williamson, Frances Vetter, Rachel Nitchman and Juanita Lowery. He is survived by: One Sister: Hazel Hardin and husband Aaron of Swannanoa, NC A special niece Dale Ruff and several other nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at McMahan's Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at McMahan's Funeral Home Chapel at 3:00 PM, Tuesday, April 3, 2018 with Reverend Kelly Luckadoo officiating. Interment will be at Gilkey United Methodist Church Cemetery.
