Obituary

Eugene Hardin, age 81, of Rutherfordton, died Monday, April 12, 2021 at his home.

He was the son of the late Bob and Mary Scoggins Hardin and he was a native of Rutherford County. Eugene was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, Sunday school teacher, choir member, and cemetery committee chairman. He retired from Reeves Brothers after serving for 40 years. Eugene was a U.S. Army veteran and he served in South Korea, France, and Japan. In addition to his parents, Eugene was preceded in death by, two sisters, O'lena Saine, and Virginia Russell and one brother, Carroll Hardin.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years: Linda Arrowood Hardin. One Daughter: Lorie Hardin Guffey, and husband Matt; One Son: Ken Hardin; Four Sisters: Selma McEntire, Shirley Cinquemano, Faye Armstrong, Theresa Mauney.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Friday, April 16, 2021 at Fellowship Baptist Church in the fellowship hall. The funeral service will be at Fellowship Baptist Church at 2:00 PM, Friday, April 16, 2021 with Reverend Tom Runyon and Reverend Raymond Byrd officiating. Interment will be at Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery following the service. Memorials may be made to Fellowship Baptist Church, 210 Silvers Lake Rd. Rutherfordton, NC 28139 or Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, P.O.
