Evelyn Margaret Searcy Ervin, age 94, of Forest City, NC, went to be with the Lord Friday, July 28, 2023, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center in Spartanburg, SC.

She was a native of Rutherford County. She was the daughter of the late Aiden Lester Searcy and the late Josephine Robertson Searcy. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years William Jack Ervin. Also brothers: Clyde Searcy, Hoyle Searcy and Alvin Searcy; sisters: Ethel Searcy Lane, Jeanette Searcy McCraw and Alice Searcy Taylor. Preceded in death also by dear friends and sisters in Christ, Margaret Hill and Oneida Camp.

Evelyn loved to garden and grow flowers. She was a wonderful cook, loved to sew and adored her pets. She cherished her family and went out of her way to help others. She took care of Jack for many years after his health declined. No matter what life brought her, she never lost her smile. Evelyn loved God and was a devoted Christian who was a member and attended Calvary Baptist Church for 65 plus years. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

One Great-grandson: Brantley Ervin

The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, Wednesday, August 2, 2023. at McMahan's Funeral Home. The funeral service will be 1:00 PM Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at McMahan's Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Scott Huffine officiating. Interment will be at Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery.
