Everett J.  Hutchins, age 97, of Rutherfordton, NC, died Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at Oak Grove Health Care Center in Rutherfordton, NC.

He was the son of the late James Curtis Hutchins and the late Ina Jane Freeman Hutchins and a native of Rutherford County.  Everett was a U S Army veteran serving from 1951 to 1953.  He retired from Stonecutter Mills as a weaver instructor after many years.  He was also preceded in death by his wife Betty Ware Hutchins and  a son Ralph Hutchins and four brothers; James Hutchins, Marvin Hutchins,  Jack Hutchins and Wilbert Hutchins.  Everett was a lifelong active member of Brittain Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by one Daughter: Tonya Hutchins Clark (Alan) of Asheville, NC

Two Sons: Joe Hutchins (Kathy) of Rutherfordton, Boyd Hutchins (Amy) of Rutherfordton

one brother: Rev. George Hutchins ( Rose Mary)

The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, Friday, June 13, 2025 at the church. The funeral service will be at Brittain Presbyterian Church at 12:00 PM, Friday, June 13, 2025 with Reverend Dr. Don Scofield officiating. Interment will be at Brittain Presbyterian Church Cemetery.   In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills ; P O Box 336; Forest City, NC 28043.  McMahan's Funeral Home & Crematory in charge of arrangements.
