Fred Bobo Brooks, age 90, of Forest City, NC, died Sunday, November 27, 2016, at Hospice House of Rutherford County . He was the son of the late L. D. Brooks and the late Telda Roberts Brooks and a native of Rutherford County. He was a member of Piney Knob Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher. He was a U S Army veteran of WW II and a member of the 70th infantry division he also served in the National Guard. One Son: Ronnie Brooks and his wife Margaret of Forest City, NC One Sister: Rosie Mae Hagler, Charlotte, NC One Brother: Robert Brooks, Gastonia, NC One Granddaughter; Rhonda Hill One Great grandchild two step-grandchildren; six step-great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at McMahan's Funeral Home. The Funeral service will be at Piney Knob Baptist Church at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, November 30, 2016 with Reverend Michael Brown and Reverend Bryan Hardin. Interment will be at Piney Knob Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors provided by the Rutherford County Honor Guard.
