Fred  Dotson, Jr., age 85, of Sunnyview,  died Friday, September 6, 2024, at Oak Grove Health Care Center in Rutherfordton, NC.

He was the son of the late Fred Dotson and Pauline Dotson and a native of Rutherford County.  Fred was a member of Cane Creek  Baptist Church, Lake Lure.  He retired from Broyhill Furniture with 32 years service.  He was also preceded in death by one sister; Patsy Jackson and two brothers; Norman Dotson and Frank Dotson.

He is  survived by his loving wife of 65 years: Joan Dotson. One Daughter: Deborah Wilson

Two Sisters: Norma Thompson Becky Reed

The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM, Monday, September 9, 2024 at Coopers Gap Baptist Church.  The funeral service will be at Coopers Gap Baptist Church at 2:00 PM, Monday, September 9, 2024 with Reverend Don Hollifield, Reverend Gary Montgomery and Reverend Danny Seigfred officiating. Interment will be at Cane Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children Hospital; 501 St. Jude Place; Memphis, TN 38105-9959 McMahan's Funeral Home & Crematory in charge of arrangements.
