Gaither Wayne Harwood, age 57, of Rutherfordton, NC, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center in Spartanburg, SC with his family by his side.

A native of Buncombe County, Gaither graduated from Enka High School in 1983. He also was a graduate of Good News Baptist Bible Institute. He was the Lt. Commander and Adjutant of the William Corbitt Camp SCV, and he loved bluegrass music. Gaither was preceded in death by his two fur babies, Dixie, and Charlie.

Gaither is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Naomi White Harwood, his parents, Leonard, and Jean Harwood, one brother, Bryan Harwood (Tonya), one niece, Cassidy Harwood, and two nephews, Chapman Harwood (Brooke), and Chambers Harwood (Shaye).

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Saturday, February 25, 2023, at Holly Springs Baptist Church. The funeral service will be at Holly Springs Baptist Church at 11:00 AM, Saturday, February 25, 2023, with Reverend Scott Moneyham and Reverend Steve Smith officiating.
