Genell Bailey Clements, age 90, of Rutherfordton, NC, died Thursday, March 19, 2020, at Rutherford Regional Medical Center.

She was the daughter of the late J. Paul and Edna Bailey. Genell was the widow of the late G. Lennon Clements and a native of Rutherford County. In addition to her parents and husband, Genell was preceded in death by her daughter; Susan Clements Hardy, and her brother Jimmy Bailey. Genell was a member of First Baptist Church of Rutherfordton for many years, she also worked in the public school system for many years.

She is survived by

One Son: Stan Clements and his wife Deborah

One Son-in-law: Billy Hardy

One Sister: Margie Andrews

Three Grandchildren: John Clements and his wife Kristen, Will Hardy and his wife Crystal, and Bailey Underhill and her husband Jason.

Six Great-Grandchildren: Bellamy and Jack Clements, Addie and Max Hardy, and Lillie and Annabelle Underhill

A private, immediate family only, burial service will be held in memory of Genell. Due to the coronavirus the family has requested there be no public visitation or funeral service at this time.
