Gerald Bennett, age 55, of Taylorsville, NC, passed away Monday, December 18, 2023, at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, NC.

A native of Rutherford County Gerald was the son of the late Joe Dunn and Marjorie Ward White. Gerald adored his dogs, he loved fighting fires, and he was a truck driver for over 30 years.

In addition to his mother, Marjorie Ward White, Gerald is survived by one brother, Jeff Bennett and his wife Tina.

Gerald will lie-in-state at Oak Ridge Baptist Church from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Saturday, December 23, 2023.  The funeral service will be at Oak Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery at 11:05 AM, Saturday, December 23, 2023, with Reverend Lewis Jackson officiating. McMahan's Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
