April 19, 1938 – September 10, 2025
Hattie Sue Suttles Enloe, age 87, of Rutherfordton, NC, passed away Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at Holly Springs Senior Citizens Home.
A native of Rutherford County, Hattie was the daughter of the late Percy Suttles and Thelma Suttles. Hattie worked at Mastercraft for many years. She was also a very skilled seamstress, she made all kinds of clothing, including beautiful dresses for her two daughters. Hattie was incredibly involved with her Gilkey Baptist church family and taught Sunday School. After retiring, Hattie dedicated her time to spending time with her kids and grandkids who she loved dearly. She was known for her homemade cakes, and her special Sunday dinners. In addition to her parents, Hattie was preceded in death by her daughter, Samatha Enloe, her husband, George Enloe, and four of her siblings, Melvin Suttles, Junior Suttles, Ann Waters, and Alma Hodge.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Tracy Enloe Fleming and her husband Brian, her son, Michael Enloe and his wife Josephine, her sister, Alice Smith, four grandchildren, Lane Enloe, Jake Enloe, Sam Fleming, and Ragan Walker, and two great-grandchildren, Riley Walker, and Georgia Walker.
The service for Hattie will be private. Hattie will be interred at Gilkey United Methodist Church Cemetery with her husband George. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, P.O. Box 336, Forest City, NC 28043. McMahan's Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
