Henry C. Deck, age 87, of Rutherfordton, NC, passed away Saturday, January 9, 2021, at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills.

He was the son of the late Roy Deck and the late Ethel Roddy Deck and he was a native of Polk County. Henry was a member of Adaville Baptist Church for many years. He was an avid golfer, and he enjoyed working in his garden. Henry loved his children and grandchildren dearly. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Howard Deck, and Grover Deck.

He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years: Merle Mauney Deck.

Two Sons: Michael H. Deck, and his wife Robin Terry E. Deck, and his wife Deborah

One Brother: James Deck

Four grandchildren, Lauren Crotts, and husband John, Lindsey Bright, and husband Kyle, Aaron Deck, and wife Katrina, Justin Melton, and wife Krystal. Six great-grandchildren, John David Crotts, Jude Crotts, Eliza Crotts, Kelsey Melton, Jonathan Melton, and Jaxon Melton

Due to covid-19 there will be a private graveside service held in honor of Henry. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills; P.O. Box 336, Forest City, NC 28043, or Adaville Baptist Church; 805 Oakland Rd. Spindale, NC 28160. McMahan's Funeral Home & Cremation Services in charge of arrangements.
