Hessie Lawter Tipton, age 70, of Rutherfordton, NC, passed away Tuesday, October 27, 2020, at her home.

She was the daughter of the late William Lawter and Emma Hicks and she was a native of Rutherford County. Hessie was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church.

She is survived by her loving husband: Wade Tipton.

Two Daughters: Jennifer Knight Lori Parker and husband Brian

One Son: Rodney Tipton and wife Kristy

One Sister: Bertha Melton and husband Paul

Four Grandchildren Richard Knight and wife Holly, Ashley Parker Augustine and husband Joshua, Jackson Tipton, and Delaney Tipton

Four Great-Grandchildren Lexon, Trey, Corben, and Delanor Knight

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Friday, October 30, 2020 at McMahan's Funeral Home.  The funeral service will be at McMahan's Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 AM, Saturday, October 31, 2020 with Reverend Tom Runyon officiating.
