Iris Cole Bashore went to her Heavenly Home on Saturday,  March 1, 2025.

A Native of Green Creek, Polk County, NC. She was the daughter of the late Ben and Ollis Willis Cole. Besides her parents, she was pre-deceased by a son, Donnie McMahan and a great grandson Dylan McMahan.

Iris loved the Lord and her family above all else. She was a nurse at St. Luke's Hospital for 15 yrs and for Dr Sandra McCormack, Tryon, NC for 18 yrs. She really loved nursing. She loved reading, coloring (adult) and most puzzles in her retirement. She loved her church, Pleasant Hill Baptist of Rutherfordton and her many friends.

She is survived by her husband, Michael G. Bashore of the home, a daughter Kim Cox of Duncan, SC, Two sons, Philip McMahan and wife Angie of Rutherfordton and, Tony McMahan and wife Karla of Shelby, NC. Two step-children, Cynzia Hardy and husband Dale of Port Charlotte, FL, and Gregg Bashore and wife Jeanette of LaPorte, Indiana, and a daughter-in-law Lisa McMahan of Shelby, NC.

Also surviving are 9 grandchildren, Skyler McMahan(Lexi), Kevin McMahan(Cindy), Kristen Barnette,  Daryl McMahan(Emily), Erin McMahan, Ashton McMahan,  Trent Waters(Tosha), Brooke Cox, and Michael McMahan, 10 great grandchildren, 5 step grandchildren and 5 step great-grand-children. Sister, Louise Allison of Green Creek, niece Jill Smith and children Caleb and Brianna. Brother-in-law Pat Bashore of Mishawaka, Ind.

The Funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, March 9, 2025 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Reverend James Henson officiating .   The visitation will be from 2:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M.  prior to the service in the church sanctuary.
