J. D. Hill, age 82 , of Gilkey  died Sunday, May 30, 2021, at  his residence.

He was the son of the late Lewis Jay Hill & Hessie Mae Vess Hill and a native of Rutherford County. J D was a U S Army Veteran and he was of the Baptist Faith.  He loved  hunting, fishing, woodworking and gardening.  He was preceded in death by brothers Ray Hill, Wayne Hill and sisters Emma Hicks and Dot Nanney.

He is survived by his daughter Jane Hodnett, and son David Hill.

Three Sisters: Edith Wilkerson Pauline Flynn Lorrine Flack Four grandchildren:  Billy Tessenair (Jessica), Crystal Hill, Amanda Hodnett, Elizabeth Roberts (J R) and ten great grandchildren.

The visitation will be Wednesday, June 2, 2021 from 2:00 P M to 3:30 PM at McMahan's.  The funeral service will be Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at  3:30 P M at McMahan's Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Paul Flynn officiating. Interment be at Little White Country Church with military honors provided by the Rutherford County Honor Guard.  McMahan's Funeral Home & Cremation Services in charge of arrangements.
