James Donald Conner, age 73, of Union Mills, NC, died Saturday, October 27, 2018, at Hospice House of the Carolina Foothills in Forest City. He was a native of Rutherford County and the son of the late Hicks Dewitt Conner and the late Carrie Lee Yelton Conner. He was a member of Grace Tabernacle Church. He loved to fish, garden and do anything outdoors. James was a loving father, grandfather, brother and friend. He was preceded in death by two brothers; Ronald Conner and Larry Joe Conner. He is survived by: Three Daughters: Patricia Conner Lovelace of the home Carrie Tilley Cynthia Jackson Three Sisters: Thelma Dotson Brenda Splawn and her husband Bill Mary Bailey and her husband Floyd Two Brothers: Dewitt Conner and his wife Deb Sam Conner and his wife Catherine Five Grandchildren Four Great-Grandchildren The body will lie in state from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at McMahan's for any family and friends to view. The Graveside service will be at Grace Tabernacle Church Cemetery at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, October 31, 2018 with Reverend Terry Honeycutt officiating. Interment will be at Grace Tabernacle Church Cemetery, Antler Trail; Union Mills. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills at P.O. Box 336 Forest City, NC 28043.
