James "Jimmy" D. Holland, Sr., age 74, of Rutherfordton, NC, died Friday, December 8, 2023.

A native of Rutherford County, Jimmy was the son of the late Archie Jr. and Frances Holland. Jimmy was a Vietnam Army War Veteran. He received the Purple Heart medal, as well as a Bronze Star for his heroic achievements. One of Jimmy's favorite things to do  was golfing. In addition to his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Head Holland, and one brother, Larry Holland Sr.

Jimmy is survived by one daughter, Jackie St. Clair (Victor), of West Virginia, one son, James "Jamie" D. Holland Jr. of Rutherfordton, one sister, Marilyn Propst (Vernon), one brother, Ricky Holland (Diane), and one grandson, Hayden Cheek.

At Jimmy's request there will be no services held for him. McMahan's Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
