James "Stevie" Scroggs, age 44, of Spindale, NC, died Wednesday, December 7, 2016, at Rutherford Regional Medical Center. He was a native of Rutherford County and the son of Kenneth James Scroggs and Onnie Martin Scroggs. Stevie was a beloved son, brother, cousin and friend. He was a big fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the North Carolina Tarheels. He was very athletic and loved to play sports. Stevie was a fighter and an inspiration to all through his time of illness and will be truly missed by all and forever live in our hearts. Now spread your wings and fly my angel. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Troy Scroggs and his maternal grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Lonnie Martin. In addition to his parents he is survived by: Half- brother Drew Scroggs Half- sister Tori Scroggs A special cousin DeDe Melton and a number of other cousins. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, Sunday, December 11, 2016 at McMahan's Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at McMahan's Funeral Home Chapel at 3:00 PM, Sunday, December 11, 2016 with Dr. Keith Stephenson officiating. Interment will be at Spindale City Cemetery.
