James "Troy" Roach, age 72, of Landrum, SC, went to be with the Lord Friday, May 1, 2026, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

Born March 25, 1954 Troy was a native of Rutherford County. Troy was the son of the late Newton Roach Sr. and the late Roxie Wilkie Roach. In addition to his parents, Troy was preceded in death by his brothers, Bobby Glen Roach, Perry Roach, and Newton Roach Jr. Troy loved the Lord. He could grow anything he put his hands on. Gardening, canning, cooking, and eating his cooking were some of his favorite things. Troy adored his special companion, his dog Murphy. Troy was a loving brother, husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 27 years, Eleanor Maynard Roach, his children, Kim Johnson of Landrum, SC, Mark Anthony Roach of Arizona, Christopher Wayne Weeks of Bostic, NC, Mary Eugenia Roach of Forest City, NC, and James Michael Roach of Cherryville, NC, two sisters, Margaret Shelton and Janet Reid, both of Rutherfordton, NC, his brother, Leon Roach and his wife Linda of Rutherfordton, NC, ten grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Monday, May 4, 2026 at McMahan's Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at McMahan's Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 PM, Monday, May 4, 2026 with Reverend Chad Roach officiating. McMahan's Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
