Janice Carolyn Thompson, age 69, of Rutherfordton, NC, died Tuesday, December 21, 2021, at Rutherford Regional Medical Center.

She was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Dorothy Thompson. Janice loved to shop, enjoyed trips to the hair salon, and time at the beach. She was active in the Golden Girls group and enjoyed going to lunch with the ladies. She had beautiful handwriting, and enjoyed sending cards to family and friends. Janice loved her two dogs Lucky and Gracie.

She is survived by her longtime caregivers, Pat Herron and Sara Ledbetter, whom provided excellent and loving care.

The graveside service will be at Rutherfordton City Cemetery at 3:00 PM, Thursday, December 23, 2021. Interment will be at Rutherfordton City Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Rutherford County Humane Society. McMahan's Funeral Home & Cremation Services in charge of arrangements.
